OneDrive or SkyDrive or CSISYNCCLIENT.EXE consuming CPU on Win 8.1 (Microsoft Office Document Cache Sync Client Interface)

Solution is from GlennNZ on the CSISYNCCLIENT.EXE consuming CPU on Win 8.1 (Microsoft Office Document Cache Sync Client Interface) topic on Microsoft answer community site

Credits goes to: GlennNZ_007 huge thanks Glenn !

Issue:

Microsoft Office Document Cache Sync Client Interface processes duplicating making CPU climb to 100% on Windows 8.1 / Office 2013 desktop

Cause:

OneDrive causing the issue.

For some reason, OneDrive and MSOffice cache were corrupted (looks like an index table that gets huge and can be corrupted for some reason – AV, disk, other…)

Action/Solution:

Delete the office and OneDrive/SkyDrive caches (both to be trankille).

To clear your cache, close all your Office processes like groove.exe (which is SkyDrive Pro), msouc.exe, msosync.exe, office library sync

[edit from GlennNZ] or use Powershell – open Powershell as an Administrator, type

Get-Process | ? {$_-path -match « office »} | kill -force

Browse to “C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\Spw” and delete all the content. (You will see that this is all related to groove and spw = SharePoint Workspace).
Next, go to “C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\OfficeFileCache” and also delete all content from this folder. This is where all the caching from your files are stored.

After you deleted everything, you should be able to start SkyDrive Pro again (using “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\GROOVE.EXE“).
